Hickory
Although there are harder and more rigid woods, the combination of strength, resistance, hardness and rigidity found in hickory can’t be found in any other commercial timber. It is a coarse-textured wood that has knots accentuating its natural appearance. Its grain is usually closed and straight but becomes wavy over time. It has a wide range of shades going from golden beige to dark brown. Over the years, it changes colour slightly to become more golden.
